Kenvue is the consumer brand portfolio spun out of Johnson & Johnson: Tylenol, Listerine, Neutrogena, Band-Aid.
Everyday products from the pharmacy shelf are bought by habit and by name: a painkiller or a plaster is chosen without comparing formulations. That yields steady revenue and the ability to raise prices with inflation. Separating from pharmaceuticals was logical — the two businesses move at different speeds and carry different risks.
On separating, the company also inherited a share of the old problems: talc litigation remains part of the parent structure's legacy and continues to be argued in court. The second challenge is pressure from retailers' own labels, which offer the same active ingredient more cheaply. Kenvue pays a dividend.
