Market sentiment on a scale from 0 to 100

The fear and greed index reduces market sentiment to a single number from 0 to 100. Low values mean participants are frightened and selling; high values mean the market is heated by buying. It is built from nine components. Five describe the coin market itself: momentum (the share of coins above their 50-day average), volatility against its annual level, one-day market breadth, and the 30-day shifts in bitcoin's share and in the stablecoin share. Four describe the market for bitcoin and ether contracts: the funding rate, the change in open interest, the put/call ratio of options and implied volatility. The index describes what has already happened and says nothing about what comes next.

Provisional value: the day is not closed yet and the final figure may change. Components — momentum, volatility against its annual level, one-day market breadth, 30-day shifts in bitcoin's share and in stablecoins' share, the perpetual funding rate, the change in open interest, the put/call ratio of options and implied volatility. What it is measured on — About 300 crypto assets; volatility is measured on the 50 largest, and the derivatives components on bitcoin and ether.
