Question 1

What is Basic Attention (BAT)?

Accepted Answer

BAT is built into the Brave browser: a user may opt in to view ads and be rewarded for it, while advertisers pay without assembling personal profiles. The token settles accounts between those three parties. It is one of the few crypto tokens with a mass- market consumer product behind it.

Question 2

How many BAT will there ever be?

Accepted Answer

The maximum supply is capped at 1.50 B BAT.

Question 3

Where is Basic Attention traded?

Accepted Answer

We track 3 trading pairs for BAT; the full list with venues is on the coin's "Exchanges" tab.

Question 4

How far back does the Basic Attention price history go?

Accepted Answer

Our database holds 2,777 days of daily price history for BAT.

Question 5

What is Basic Attention ranked by market capitalisation?

Accepted Answer

Basic Attention is ranked #187 by market capitalisation, at 204.17M $. Market capitalisation is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with both — a coin can climb the ranking without its price rising, simply by issuing more.

Question 6

How much of the BAT supply is already issued?

Accepted Answer

1.50 B BAT are in circulation, which is 99.7 % of the declared maximum. The remainder enters the market on the schedule written into the protocol, and until it does, the circulating figure is what market capitalisation is computed from — not the cap.

Question 7

How has Basic Attention performed over the year?

Accepted Answer

Over the last twelve months the price of BAT fell by 32.7 %. That is the change of the quote itself and says nothing about what comes next: crypto drawdowns of tens of percent within a year are ordinary, not exceptional.

Question 8

Is Basic Attention a coin or a token?

Accepted Answer

Basic Attention is a token issued on the Ethereum network rather than a coin of its own blockchain. Practically that means transfers are paid for in the network's own currency, and the token's fate is tied to that network as well as to its own project.
