Vladimir Chemical Plant produces polymer films, sheets and composite materials for industry and construction. Its products are used in packaging, insulation and technical products. The shares trade under the ticker VLHZ.
The plant works in polymer conversion: it buys pellets from petrochemical producers and turns them into films, sheets and profiles with specified properties. The value added here lies in the technology — the thickness, strength and resistance of the material — rather than in the feedstock itself.
Its customers are industrial: packaging manufacturers, construction companies and makers of technical products. Demand follows their production plans, not retail consumption.
Production cost is determined by the price of polymer feedstock, which is set by the petrochemical market. Passing an increase through to the price of the finished film is possible only with a lag, and during that period the margin is squeezed.

Strengths and weaknesses describe the business itself. Opportunities and threats describe what may happen around it.
It processes polymer feedstock into films, sheets, profiles and composite materials for packaging, construction and technical products.
From the technology: the specified thickness, strength and resistance of the material. The feedstock itself — pellets — is bought on the market, and the value is created by what is made out of it.
Because it cannot be passed through to the price of the finished product straight away: contracts with customers are already signed, and renegotiating them takes time. In that interval the difference falls on the producer.
